The team of Staff and Volunteers at the Jeremiah Tree are passionate about bringing the Gospel to life! We want to share its powerful message with the world and provide an environment of discipleship and fellowship to help men seeking to deepen their relationship with Christ and so find Abundant Life in Him. Our ministry focuses on the unique needs of each individual, equipping them to grow spiritually.

Executive Director

Rev. Kenny Garrett

Since 2018, Rev. Kenny Garrett has faithfully served as the Pastor of the General Baptist House of Prayer in Fairborn, Ohio. Prior to assuming this role, he had been ordained as a General Baptist Minister in 2011. Brother Kenny brings with him a wealth of experience, including his previous pastoral service at the First General Baptist Church of Dayton, Ohio.

One of Brother Kenny's notable accomplishments was spearheading the transformation of the First General Baptist Church into the Renewal International Pentecost Church. Today, it serves a vibrant congregation that immigrated to Dayton, Ohio, from Burundi, Africa.

Brother Kenny's passion for music is evident, as he firmly believes that all music finds its origins and inspiration in the timeless work of Bill Monroe. At the church or the Jeremiah Tree, Brother Kenny is almost always accompanied by his faithful companion, Butterbean, the Baptist Bulldog.

Through his unwavering dedication and love for people, Brother Kenny continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those he serves.

Program Manager

Greg Agee

Greg Agee, the father of five children, is our dedicated Program Manager at the Jeremiah Tree. He brings to his role over a year of personal sobriety, leveraging his own experiences to inspire and uplift the men in our discipleship houses. Greg's family is deeply rooted in the community, actively participating in the General Baptist House of Prayer in Fairborn. There, Greg takes on a leadership role, leading worship and ministering to the congregation. His commitment to personal growth, community service, and spiritual guidance makes him an invaluable asset to our team and the individuals he serves.

Teacher

Rev. Jim Hartman

Rev. Jim Hartman has been in the ministry for over 50 years. He has pastored churches in Ohio and Kentucky. He is retired from pastoring but still preaches the Gospel as often as possible. You can see him on Facebook Live, Twitter, and YouTube every Wednesday evening. Brother Jim and his wife Shirley have been dedicated to the Baptist Churches in the Miami Valley for decades now and show no signs of slowing down.

Bill Helton, a devoted father of two is the cornerstone of our operational efficiency, holding the position of Operations Manager. His pivotal role involves overseeing the intake process and managing the casework for the men who participate in our program. Thanks to his expertise and dedication, we have been successful in streamlining our processes and providing optimal assistance to those who need it most.
